Seacoast New Hampshire Photographer
Moments worth capturing.
Hello
I’m Ali, a budding photographer based on the Seacoast of New Hampshire. I have three young kids and over 13 years of experience as a UI/UX designer at a leading agency in Portsmouth. I’m currently exploring various types of photography, with a focus on portrait and lifestyle. Working with kids and families to capture authentic expressions and moments brings me so much joy. Reach out to plan a session!
How It Works
1. Schedule Your Session
We start by discussing your vision and choosing the perfect date, time, location, and attire. Outdoor sessions are typically scheduled for the hour before sun sets. In-home, at location, and studio sessions are scheduled for midday.
2. The Photoshoot
We meet up and have fun creating great photos! If it’s a portrait session, I'll guide you through different poses and moments to ensure we capture beautiful, authentic images you'll love. If it’s a website imagery shoot, we’ll work together to execute the shot list we’ve collaborated on prior to the shoot.
3. Editing and Delivery
I carefully curate, color grade, and retouch the best images from our session. This typically takes 1-2 weeks. Once the photos are ready, the album will be delivered via Pixieset. You’ll receive a link and password to a private online gallery to easily download all your high resolution digital images.
That’s a good question.

I find that coordinating colors and styles rather than matching exactly is best. Check out this post by @styledbymegt for great inspiration and recommendations. Choose a palette of 3-4 complementary colors (think neutrals, muted tones, deep jewel tones, pops of floral) and dress in simple, classic layers. Avoid large logos, graphics, and fluorescent colors, as these can be distracting in photos.

Yes! I have a short list of my favorite locations that consistently provide beautiful backdrops, from beaches, to rocky coastlines, to open fields, to classic New England farms. We’ll discuss your family’s vibe, the time of year, and how far you’re willing to travel. Based on that, I'll recommend a couple spots for your session!
I also love doing sessions in your own home, which is often the most authentic and comfortable setting. The kids are relaxed, the photos capture your real life, and there’s no travel required. At-home sessions give us more flexibility when scheduling the time of day for your shoot.

Golden Hour—the hour just after sunrise or just before sunset—provides the most flattering and beautiful light for photography. This specific time of day is key to achieving the magical, timeless feel.
This light is:
Soft and Warm: It creates a beautiful, diffused glow that minimizes harsh shadows and makes skin tones look creamy and luminous.
Directional: It adds depth and dimension, providing those stunning, backlit, and sun-kissed effects that truly make your family stand out.

Please don't worry—I expect it! It’s perfectly normal for kids to have a hard time participating because they are bored, distracted, etc. (especially 3 and under!).
My Approach: I bring endless patience, energy, and a playful attitude. My goal is to keep the session fun and stress-free! I use games, movement, and silly prompts to capture genuine interactions and real smiles, rather than forcing poses.
The Result: Often, the most loved photos are the candid, imperfect moments—the snuggles, the giggles, and the silly expressions. Just focus on loving your family, and I'll focus on getting the shots.

Step 1: Access Your Gallery by clicking the link and entering your gallery password or your email address to view the photos.
Step 2: Look for the Download Icon, which typically looks like a downward-pointing arrow ( ↓ ) in the top right corner of the gallery screen. Click the Download Icon (↓) at the top of the collection page and enter your Email Address. Choose your desired Download Size (e.g., High Resolution for printing, or Web Size for social media). A .ZIP file containing all your images will be prepared.
To Download Individual Photos (Easiest on Mobile), click on the photo you want to download to open the enlarged view. Look for the Download Icon (↓) on that individual photo (usually in the top corner). The first time you do this, you may need to enter your Email Address. Select the resolution and choose to save it to your device's Camera Roll (on mobile) or your downloads folder (on desktop).
Step 3: Save Your Photos: Galleries are often only active for a limited time! Be sure to download and back up your photos on a separate hard drive or cloud service as soon as you can.

Since the best lighting for outdoor sessions happens when it's dry, we'll make a final decision about 24-48 hours before your scheduled time.
For Rain/Storms: If the forecast calls for heavy rain, high winds, or severe storms, we will reschedule your session to the first mutually available date. There is no penalty or fee for weather-related rescheduling.
For Overcast Skies: Don't worry about overcast days! Cloudy weather actually provides gorgeous, soft, even light that is wonderful for photos. We will proceed as planned!
